And iirc, I don't think Songque specifically remembers how she survived right? What if something to do with Sena's existence in the system brought Songque back from the simulation?

let's take a moment to dissect this chapter!! I am your designated lore enthusiast, let me clarify some things and state some fun facts i discovered: in this chapter, we get to see the real nature of mars worlds, and how martians managed to survive the honkai. They went through with something similar project stigma so to say and converted every human they have, into data. they're technically still human, but rather than physical, they're only made up of data binaries, which prompted DS' existensial crisis monologue when going back into the simulation. it's been hinted out throughout the whole arc, "sea of data" instead of quanta, "source matter" which sounds similar to "source code" (WHICH NOW MAKES SENSE SINCE SOURCE CODE IS USED TO BUILD OFF ANYTHING CODE RELATED), etc etc. plot twist incoming (not really) mars turns out to be a whole giant planet sized quantum supercomputer that stored the data of the entire planet! God sena mentioned "Mars has stagnated billions of years ago", which can only mean one thing: the super computer somehow shut down. And with helia and coralie messing around and finding the supercomputer, they accidentally turned it on again! hence the "Recently, time has began turning again in mars". What i like about this chapter is this, They put a twist on "ooo everything is just a dream/simulations", but somehow make it work, and doesn't disregard the story so far! rather than "oh then it's all useless since everything is a simulation", they changed it up. "It's only one (happy ending) out of infinity, with an infinite amount of bad endings too to boot.". We don't know how many tries DS has been stuck there, but we can assume it has reached more than a couple dozen retries. So, what's the purpose of the simulation? As the end of the chapter implies, the simulation is used to gather data. Most importantly: To uncover and study the true nature of shadow disasters, which is what honkai manifested as in Mars. Why does Shadows still exist? Isn't honkai supposed to be under control now? How does the shadows work? That's the question that is the main purpose of the whole simulation journey. So let's strap in, buckle up, and let's go on a ride in the superquantum computer! Instead of exploring physical worlds this time, we're going on a journey in a supercomputer, fun! Now that DS managed to unlock more admin and operator permissions by the end of the first arc of p2, we can explore more and more of the supercomputer. ooh boy this is gonna be a very long ride! another funfact: DS is now the first implicit but very obvious character to be genderfluid! canonically and in default, she's female, but she just changes gender in simulation whenever she feels like it.

when you had a bad dream and felt emotional over it (i.e sad, hurt, sense of grief) - are these feelings real? even when the dream itself isn't? personally, i've had bad dreams where i woke up crying, and these feelings felt VERY real and vivid ch3-ex was so multifaceted and made me feel so many raw emotions. it was truly a 'mind-fuck' moment. what i mean by RAW emotions -> "emotions that hit you right in the gut. these raw emotions usually leave us feeling that we need to do something, while not being sure what exactly we could be doing". i'm an empathetic person, but god damn - i did not expect to feel SO much bitterness and unacceptance when i saw DS being stripped away of her 'reality' and happy memories with sena. like, what? i just want to jump into the game and give her a big hug - telling her "everything will be fine, your feelings and memories are very much real". absolutely adored how Mei consoled DS and offered some sense of autonomy (esp. since she experienced the Elysian Realm, and knows first-hand how it feels...) i play games and get emotional over them - these are fictional stories, but my feelings are real though and on one can tell me otherwise. seeing DS slowly question her identity and memories were so painful and sad - thanks HI3rd for the dose of depression Langqiu Oxia Arc just became a solid 9.5/10 for me. even after CH3 finale, i already loved it so much. but this CH3-EX was the cherry on top - the lore drop was INSANE. HI3rd story-writers are on a different level man ... what an emotional rollercoaster. I probably need like 3-4 days to fully process and digest these emotions...
